One of the most common uses of our dimpled sheet is to protect the foundation wall waterproofing. It protects the waterproof coating from mechanical damage when backfilling the excavation and compacting the soil and, when installed correctly, ensures the safe drainage of seepage water into the drainage system.

In civil engineering, Hammerl foils are used, among other things, in the excavation pit to prevent the pit walls from slipping by stabilizing the slopes. Our films are also used as cover films, for example to protect materials and equipment from dust and dirt on the construction site.

Both our foils and our studded mats are used in the construction of the floor slab. Hammerl Dimpled Sheet Basic Plus was specially developed as a cost- and time-saving alternative to the blinding layer made of lean concrete. The use as blinding layer has been tested by the “Laboratory for Soil Mechanics, Earthworks and Foundation Engineering” in Münster.
